Salary.com’s Data as a Service APIs leverage our robust CompAnalyst Market Data, Job Posting, Skills, and various labor market statistics datasets.
The core API at the center of this is our Job Match API. This API uses proprietary AI models we’ve trained on hundreds of millions of job titles and job descriptions over multiple years. The goal being to deliver an accurate benchmark job match when given certain elements of a job.
The API will return a match based on job title alone. However, we always recommend including the full job description – either internal job description or an external job posting – if you have it. Job descriptions typically result in more accurate matches given our AI models understand the nuances and mechanics inherent in job description matching. Much of this input comes from our own internal team of compensation professionals with decades in the business.
Once a match is found, the confidence rating of the match is returned, as well as various data elements configured to the scope of the credentials used to call the API. Our match ratings are as follows:
The matching continuously evolves as more benchmark jobs are added to our dataset each month. Ensuring the API always returns the most up-to-date and relevant match.
